NON-SURGICAL ALTERNATIVE TO A FACELIFT
PDO Thread Lift
Gifty is excited to offer a new and exciting procedure for rejuvenating the face involving the use of PDO or Polydiaxanone, threads. These dissolvable threads are biocompatible, meaning they are not a threat to living tissues. PDO Thread Lifting is generally a fast, safe, minimally invasive treatment alternative to traditional surgical facelift procedures and does not require general anesthesia or large incisions.
The best candidates for this procedure are individuals who:
- Are unhappy with loose skin and wrinkles
- Do not want to undergo surgery
- Want a longer-lasting treatment than dermal fillers
During a PDO Thread Lift procedure, the threads are gently injected into the subdermal layer of the skin. The threads have tiny structures that “grab” onto and pull up the underside of the skin, helping to lift, tighten, and contour loose or sagging skin. Along with providing immediate lift and support to the skin, PDO thread lifting induces the body’s natural healing process, which stimulates collagen production.
PDO thread lifting is used for adding lift to a variety of facial areas, including the:
- Around and under the eyes
- Nasolabial folds
- Around the mouth
Total procedure time will vary based on what areas will require treatment. After applying a topical numbing cream an anesthetic is applied to reduce any discomfort. Gifty will utilize lifting threads to tighten the face and improve the facial structure through mechanical manipulation. On average two to three threads are used for each area of cosmetic enhancement.
Results may last 12-18 months depend on the number of threads used.
Discomfort is minimal during the procedure. A selective inflammatory response is the desired outcome for the production of collagen. After receiving PDO thread treatments, patients typically experience mild to moderate swelling and soreness to treated areas. Any discomfort should dissipate in a short amount of time. Patients can obtain the benefits of PDO threads with minimal downtime. The body absorbs the threads in four to six months. However, the threads stimulate collagen production, so results can still be seen months after the threads have dissolved. Annual visits may be needed depending on desired long-term results.
